🍞 Don’t throw away stale bread: a baker’s trick to make it crispy again!
Stale bread is often synonymous with waste. However, there is a simple and effective trick used by professional bakers to make your stale bread crispy again… as if it just came out of the oven!
Why does bread go stale?
Bread loses its moisture and freshness over time, making it hard and dry. But the good news is that this process is reversible if you do it correctly.
The baker’s trick: baking with a little water
Here’s how:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Lightly dampen the crust of your stale bread with a little water—use wet hands or a spray bottle to avoid over-wetting the crumb.
Wrap the bread in aluminum foil (optional to keep some moisture inside).
