The Original Christmas Chaos Cake

Ingredient

Cream cheese (softened) 8 oz
Unsalted butter (softened) ½ cup
Powdered sugar 3 cups
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Heavy cream (as needed) 1–2 tablespoons
Optional Toppings

Extra chopped pecans
Chocolate drizzle
Festive sprinkles or extra crushed candy canes
🍰 Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare Pan
Heat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch pan (or two 9-inch round pans).

2. Mix Dry Ingredients
Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

3. Cream Butter & Sugars
Beat softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).

4. Add Wet Ingredients
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Mix in vanilla and sour cream until smooth.

5. Combine Wet & Dry Mixtures
Alternate adding the dry ingredients with buttermilk. Mix gently — don’t overmix.

6. Fold in Mix-Ins
Stir in pecans, coconut, chocolate chips, cranberries, and candy canes.

7. Bake
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

8. Make the Frosting
Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy.
Add vanilla, then slowly add powdered sugar.
Add heavy cream as needed until fluffy and spreadable.

9. Frost & Decorate
Spread frosting onto the cooled cake.
Top with festive sprinkles, drizzle, or nuts.
