Fried Okra Recipe

Prepare the Okra: Wash and dry the okra, then slice it into 1/2-inch pieces.
Soak in Buttermilk: Place the sliced okra in a bowl and pour buttermilk over it. Let it soak for 10–15 minutes.
Prepare the Coating: In another bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat, aiming for a temperature of 350°F (175°C).
Coat the Okra: Drain the okra from the buttermilk, allowing the excess liquid to drip off. Then dredge the okra in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated.
Fry the Okra: Fry the okra in batches for 2–3 minutes, stirring gently until golden brown and crispy.
Drain and Serve: Remove the okra using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot, with a sprinkle of salt or your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy your crispy, golden fried okra!
